Yesterday morning, Dr Temple told Linda that he will be keeping her in the hospital for 2 more weeks - quite a disappointment for her because she was hoping to be home safe and sound early next week. But eventually we both saw the sanity of this - Dr T and his team want to be absolutely sure that everything in that diminutive body of her's is working the way it should be before he releases her to the wide world.  She had a ct scan yesterday to check her abdomen and we'll get results today. Vitals are good and that dreaded nausea is in abeyance. Later this week, she'll get a day pass and we will venture out (in milder temperatures) to get a Harry Potter fix. Patience is the name of the game here. I'm starting my Christmas baking today - partly because Linda is craving some and partly because Tracy did win the initial release date pool. Feels good to have my hands in butter and brown sugar and pecans......

  1. Enjoy your baking, I'm not a baker, not fond of all the measuring and precision. I love to cook. Combining food, flavours, and spices. Starts out as something and morphs into a new creation along the way.

  2. Linda & Lorraine I am sure that wasn't the news you were hoping for but maybe it will pay to be safe rather than sorry. At least everyone knows what needs to be done for you Linda and therefore you will continue to get the best of care which is what we want. When you get to go home you can feel confident that all is well. Take care and try to be patient. I am sure you will be home in time for HO HO HO!!!

  3. Sounds like those two weeks or so will include the odd day pass. Maybe not a bad way to test the good ol' sea legs before heading off to Vernon, and home, and pooches and family and friends. I hear the H. Potter movie is a good one. Glad to hear you'll both be off to see it soon. Dang, I wished I lived closer so that I could enjoy some Christmas baking with you, Lorraine!

Day at a time . . . and the healing journey is still all moving in the right direction . . . its just taking a few days longer than initially planned! . . . and we're chronic planners, aren't we!

    Big hugs to you both.

  4. No new words of wisdom re: the 2 week 'delay' as Kim and Gayle said them first. Darn them anyway LOL But you have my words of support and encouragement all the same, and can I put in an order for Christmas cookies? I like the sounds of butter, brown sugar and pecans! Yum. I also hear raves about the latest HP movie, so enjoy! luv you guys.
