Well Lucille and I are moved - amazing how much we managed to accumulate in a month!! Guess we're both pack rats!
Linda continues to improve - her feeding tube is working well and they've increased the amount going in without her experiencing nausea. They've also clamped the stomach drainage tube so that means the stomach enzymes are going through the gi tract without problems - lots of systems to get kick-started! Her binder (like a girdle) came yesterday and they got her sitting up with legs dangling - first step in getting her mobile. The only problem has been her lack of sleep - her schedule seems to be out of sync - so she's been awake at night and sleeping during the day and the team wants the opposite so yesterday we kept her awake. The lack of sleep has affected her time on the trach cradle - so hopefully today (after a good night's sleep) she'll be back on the cradle for the full 12 - 18 hours. (Hope that all made sense!)
Off to see the medical wonder - more later.
Wonderful news. Happy settling in and hope the Medical wonder has a good day too! Loads of love to you all. Gobble, gobble.
ReplyDeleteso glad to hear the good news Had to wear one of those girdle things in the hospital I was so greatfull for it starts to give you hope to get mobile. Tell Linda we are so glad she is on the way to recovery. Stay strong and prayers go to you and Lucille and tracy for giving you a home base. How anyone gets any sleep in a hospital is beyond me
ReplyDeleteWell glad you guys are moved. Tell my favorite Graves Aunt to get back on a proper sleeping patern lOl.
ReplyDeleteSo glad they have got her up and moving, moving is great and another positive step! I sure agree with the poor sleep in a hospital comment. It has got to be the worst place ever!! A freeway would be easier to sleep beside! You are such a trooper, Lorraine. All the best to you and "Wonder Woman".
ReplyDeleteGlad you're moved and settling in, Lorraine. I hope the pooches are easing into their new surroundings ok! Progress keeps happening for Linda. Such great news!! If she keeps having trouble sleeping, you could put her on the phone and I could read her a couple of policy manuals and a school division budget document. I'm sure that would have her snoring in no time! :-) Here's to each day continuing to head in the right direction! Hugs . . .
ReplyDeleteYes, everything made sense Lorraine!
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear that Linda is starting to be mobile and that there is improvement everyday! Postivie thoughts and prayers to you all!
I think this is more good news. I love Kim's suggestion about reading her some policy manuals, however at this point in time Linda probably would love to be well and back in the swing of things.Once she does get on a floor maybe there won't be so much activity around and sleeping will be easier.Good luck trying to keep the tired wonder women awake during the day!Glad your move went well.Love to all including Tracy who is looking after you and the pooches so well.
ReplyDeleteI love to go to bed with good news in my head! I'm excited to read that Linda is on her way to Mobility, just like my little kiddies at NONA. Oh the joy they feel when they can be independent, often getting into mischief. You two L's might have to keep an eye on Linda once she gets her wheels. I Love your updates Lorraine. Hello to Tracy and Lucille as well. Thanks so much. Hugs to all from Ren and Den.
ReplyDeleteHey There, I am healing well, and glad to hear your move went smoothly and Linda continues to improve.
