So we're girding our loins here in Calgary for snow and vicious winds - meaning wind chills. No more balmy 7+ degrees! Linda and I took advantage of that gorgeous weather on Thursday and hightailed it to the zoo. We managed to snare one of the lightweight wheelchairs from the hospital - so much easier to heft and store in the car trunk!! The signage to the zoo was a bit confusing (harumph) but we got there, along with many, many young moms and their wee ones. We laughed at the antics of the monkeys - especially the males with their butts pressed up against the glass - they know, don't they! And we were both just gobsmacked by the South American Anteater - what a bizarre looking creature!!!!!!!! Yesterday, we 'stayed in'; Linda had a CT scan in the afternoon to, once again, check on the fistula and also her drain areas. She said it was the easiest one she's endured - even the Telebrix went down okay. Last night, Les and Suzanne (distant cousins who live here in Calgary) popped in for a visit - Linda thoroughly enjoys Les' stories.
Not sure what we'll do today - no doubt, she'll beat me at 31 or Farkle!
G'day (since you're using that 'gobsmacked' thing) and happy weekend to you both! Calgary Zoo is one of MY favs. Still remember the time my sister learned that cats pee backwards, as she was showered by a lion :) Don't know the game of Farkle so you'll probably clean my clock when we get together to play. btw, changed my pic so that I can send happy sunshine every time I post. love you guys.
ReplyDeletewhat is Farkle? have a good day thinking of you two all the time Liz and Jim
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you enjoyed the zoo and the monkeys and that you have been exploring.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunny day here today, about to head up to the Grey Canal with the dogs....... keep getting stronger Linda, looking forward to seeing you both soon!
Take care!
Gotta love those monkeys! Givin' you a good moon! Ha ha ha. I can't wait to take Lucas when he gets older!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear Linda is getting out of that hospital and exploring Calgary more. I don't know what Farkle is either, but are you playing it on the iPad? ...I'm gonna check that out on my iPad when I'm done here.
Cheers!
Something I meant to tell you... we hung the wreath you made for me some 20+ years ago! Spray shellac and it has held together amazingly. I could, however, use a new pair of moccasins LOL Googled Farkle and it sounds like a hoot. Hope you're having some play time. love u 2
ReplyDeleteI'm such a slow learner sometimes! I didn't notice the "2011" category on the right . . . so kept checking for updates in 2010 and the most recent one continued to be December 31! Duh! So if you've been wondering where I've been on the blog, please know I was still wandering around in 2010 :-) The zoo! What a fun way to spend a day!
ReplyDeleteWell . . .now that I know where everyone is, I'll be back to checking in on a daily basis and keeping up with the banter. Love 2 you both! Kim
