She was so happy last night with the ham and pots and mustard sauce for the ham - and sitting at the table - eating and talking and laughing with Tracy's folks and Aunt Rose - wonderful to see and be a part of!! Then we went back up to the spa and while she was getting changed into her pj's, her one remaining drain just literally fell out of her body; we were both shocked because 1) we thought it was sewed into her body and 2) the Docs have been talking about her going home with this drain. Much gnashing of teeth today because the consensus is the drain must be replaced but this can't happen until her blood coagulation level is manipulated down to a lower level (probably a couple of days) and then increased again after the drain insertion. And who knows how long all this will take. So this definitely was a 'quelle fromage' day - even with ham and pot leftovers.

Lunda & Lorraine. I sure it is disappointing about the drain but as they say everything happens for a reason. When they give recognition for patience I am sure the two of you will be tied for that award. I am sure the meal was delicious and hopefully they will continie and no more tube.
ReplyDeleteIt really does suck about the drain! Sonofagun . . . Whether in or out of the hospital, keep enjoying those wonderful morsels of tasty food, Linda!
ReplyDeleteGlad you always start with the best first! The meal - food and fun - sounded great. Then re: tube, whatnthe...!? What a frustration! Ah well... just another bump in the road. Hang in there! love to you both.
ReplyDeleteGood to read about your dinner with Tracy's family. Wonderful comfort food, my favorite kind. Hopefully the last drain will be put back in with no problem and it does it's job, Linda is healing well, clean bill of health, and your out of There! Yes, I agree with Gaye, you two are so patient. It's a good way to be. Miss yah, Hugs from Ren and Den.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the dinner was a success! Nothing like sitting around, eating and laughing with friends and family. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. It must have been stunned silence when it fell out! Hopefully the drain will go back with little hoopla. Enjoy the next party meal!
ReplyDeleteWe had a big halibut meal here last night, with Thai curry and then a big game of Monopoly. Jonathan will be a real estate mogul!
Love to you both. Your patience and long view is good, though at times it must be tempting to throw your hands in the air.
