Much yanking out of tubes today - drain #1 this morning (amid great hurrahs because that was the one giving her pain) - and the feeding tube this afternoon (I was very surprised at the length of it). So now we wait (patience is a virtue) to see what Linda can tolerate foodwise and what comes out drain #3 - we're hoping very little. We stayed in today - partly because of the imminent tube yankings and partly because it is so bloody cold here. Maybe out tomorrow to get Liz some preserved lemons at the most excellent Cookbook Cooks Co store.

As our sojourn here begins to wind down, I am seriously contemplating writing a book about elevator etiquette. (Aarrghhhh)

  1. Great tube news !!!! What would you be writing in your book ??? All the ups & downs ? Or would it be the amusing music ???? HMMMMMMM...so much to ponder about elevators!!!

    Love to you both XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

  2. Cameron wants to know if it was grumpy folks who are inspiring your debut as an up and coming writer. I would think you could actually write a book about patience and forbearance. You have exhibited a great deal, both of you for so long. Glad to hear the tube count is declining. Now if only the mercury readings would increase eh? My sister did not make it in to work, but I don't know if they lost power. When I was a kid I could hardly wait for a good storm, while as an adult I worry about long power loss.....
Good luck tomorrow and the next tomorrow with seeing what L can tolerate foodwise.

  3. Linda & Lorraine
Gteat news about the tubes. I am sure it feels good to acturally chew some food and experience the different textures. Hopefully this is the beginning of the wind down in the Spa and the anxiously awaited trip home. Linda if you can send me an email I will send you a picture of my new puppy. My email is gbirchall@mts.net. Talk to you soon.

  4. So glad to hear your going to the cooking school for moi! Elevator etiquette interesting ! will the music be a part of this book? Linda enjoy the ham and scalloped potatoes tomorrow night wish I was there to eat with all of you. When will you be allowed to have Beer and wine? Make sure you find that out before leaving the spa!Love Liz

  5. Doesn't sound like a whackload of fun, but great to hear about unwanted tubes being unneeded! How's about chicken fried steak? C'mon over! LOL It snowed here last night, and you KNOW what a panic that creates on the lower mainland. But the drive to work was fine (altho it was to WORK) 'cause they NEVER close the schools where I am. It would be much better if they could clear the darn parking lots tho! cheers and hugs
